Design Contest PELLE+ 2011: on September 19th. the award ceremony for the winners
The Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium, together with Oliviero Toscani, organized the second edition of the International Desing Contest PELLE+ for new planning proposals of products for different uses made of vegetable-tanned leather.
The Consortium was looking for fresh projects, surprising ideas mixing the contemporary view of modern design with the tradition of vegetable tanning and resulting in new creations inspired by the extraordinary quality of the vegetable-tanned leather and its versatility.
Architects, designers and artists from every part of the world have been invited to partecipate and propose innovative projects made of this precious and mouldable material, traditional in its productive process but really modern in its possible applications.
Our search for new ideas will continue in 2012 with a new edition of the contest.
The Award Ceremony
On September 19th. 2011, 7.00 p.m. at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, the Jury will award the three winning projects. The 2011 Jury is composed by Gilda Bojardi, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Elio Fiorucci, Jaime Hayon, Toshiyuki Kita, Alessandro Mendini, Marc Newson, Pietro Carlo Pellegrini, the president of the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium Simone Remi and Oliviero Toscani as chairman.
A prize will be assigned to the finalists placed first, second and third but all the participating projects will be displayed in the entrance hall of the Triennale. Free entrance.
